Review of The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman

The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your MateThe Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate by Gary Chapman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After being together ten years and adding a few kids, we were losing our connection with each other. We had forgotten to pay attention to the other’s reactions, thoughts and feelings. My therapist recommended The Five Love languages. Well, of course, my spouse and I do NOT have the same one. Even if we did, it wouldn’t make marriage easy. Chapman explains that we receive and understand we are loved if the person speaks it in our language, be it touch, words of affirmation, gifts, quality time or acts of service. This book does not make your marriage perfect but if you want to try, it gives the tools to help improve your relationship. How to show your spouse that you love them.
It has been a month and we still are referring to this book to understand our relationship and encourage our kids in loving ways.
