Review of The Book Thief By Markus Zusak

The Book ThiefThe Book Thief by Markus Zusak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Who could not like a book written by Death (aka Grim Reaper)? That being said, this is NOT a dark book. Death is the main character who meets everyone at least once in their life, so he is the perfect storyteller. He never dies. The book thief is his story is about a German girl during WWII, who has a taste for books. Some she steals. Others are given to her. Death moves in and out of her life during the tragic times of the Fuhrer. He too, is a book thief.

The author’s writing is amazing, making sure Death keeps you curious as to how many times he has seen people or they have escaped him. The book does bounce around on the WWII timeline so the reader has to pay close attention. Excellent book over all!
